CBRE (Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis) is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm. An American company, CBRE is also an industry leader in the UK.
As a CBRE approved supplier, Solarcrown Commercial have joined CBRE’s mySupplier network in which CBRE buyers and approved suppliers can exclusively connect. The portal makes it easier for buyers and suppliers to communicate and collaborate on new opportunities.
To be approved as a CBRE supplier, Solarcrown Commercial have demonstrated that they meet CBRE’s standards for health and safety, environmental and social responsibility, insurances, permits and CBRE policies and standards.
Becoming a CBRE approved supplier is by invitation only
To join the prestigious list of CBRE suppliers, a company must be invited by an approved CBRE contact. Solarcrown Commercial were invited by one of CBRE Senior Project Managers, having been introduced through a mutual contact. CBRE were looking for quality sub-contractors, project managers and designers in the renewable technology market to support them with their own client base and demand.
As a continually evolving brand that doesn’t rest on its laurels, this was an opportunity that the management team at Solarcrown Commercial were keen to explore.
There are challenges and demands to achieve and maintain CBRE supplier status
The CBRE mySupplier portal is a pre-qualification supply chain management tool. As such we had to dedicate time and effort to demonstrate our suitability as a CBRE supplier. Being approved and registered on mySupplier is just the start. We will also be required, through the contracts we undertake for CBRE buyers, to continually demonstrate our high standards of service.
With guidance from our sponsor, we were provided with a mentor to work with to complete the onboarding process. During this time we were required to prove our capability and suitability for working with, and representing the values and high standards of, CBRE.
The onboarding process evaluates all aspects of the business including financial stability, compliance, insurance, qualifications, and industry experience, in an effort to reduce all risks to CBRE. Accounts, references, and qualifications are all evaluated and corroborated during the onboarding period.
