SCC were introduced to Jones Lang LaSalle by M&E Consultants FHP ESS and were successful in securing the contract to replace the Central Battery System at Rochdale Shopping Centre.
Due to the successful installation of LED lighting at Rochdale Shopping Centre Car Park, SCC were invited to renew the shopping centres Central Battery System. Replacement components for the system have become obsolete. We found it was more effective to replace the YAP 9 Wet Cells Battery System with a new Dry Cell technology. SCC supplied and installed a 110V 5A Constant Voltage Charge control PCB, charge transformer and smoothing choke complete with a 108V sealed lead acid battery rated at 2068W for 3 hour emergency duration. The battery is fully compliant with BS6290 Pt4 and has a design life of up to 10 years. SCC also installed a 50V 30A battery Low Volts Disconnect circuit (LVD). The circuit monitors the battery voltage and automatically disconnects the load in the event of a prolonged power-cut. This protects the battery from permanent damage caused by over discharge conditions. (Recommended for sealed lead acid batteries).
