In 2022, St Swithins partnered with Solarcrown Commercial to install a grid-connected solar PV system complete with inverter and battery storage. The system significantly exceeded expectations, producing more clean energy than forecast and delivering impressive carbon savings. Encouraged by this success, St Swithins decided to expand their solar capabilities with a second installation of solar panels, again entrusting Solarcrown to lead the project.
For the latest installation, Solarcrown managed the full process, including planning applications, structural assessments, RAMS documentation, a detailed programme of works, and the necessary DNO applications. The new system added 75 solar panels across a pitched roof, delivering a further 39.75 kWp of solar generation, with a projected annual yield of 618.61 kWh/kWp and an additional 10,942 kg/year in CO₂ savings.
Combined with the original installation, St Swithins now operates a total solar PV system comprising:
70.13 kWp PV generator output
325.7 m² total generator surface
156 solar panels
2 inverters
1 battery storage system
Annual CO₂ emissions avoided: 24,692 kg
Every aspect of the installation followed rigorous quality and safety standards, backed by full certification including MCS, building regulations compliance, and AC testing. The client also received comprehensive documentation including solar array test reports, user manuals, and warranty information, ranging from 5 to 25 years depending on the component.
