Solarcrown Commercial has successfully designed and supplied Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust with a new energy efficient LED Lighting system for NHS North Tyneside General Hospital in Newcastle.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust has invested in a like for like replacement lighting scheme, which removes their existing Traditional Lighting for new LED Light fittings of a similar size, aesthetics and colour temperature, but with lower wattage and features that reduce energy usage and installation costs.
Corridors, Nurse Station and Reception Areas

Solarcrown Commercial replaced the outdated 58W T8 fittings with 35W 600 x 600 LED Panels to Corridor, Nurse Stations and Reception areas. These panels offer an aesthetic clean appearance that remains flush to the ceiling. The LED Panels also allows a larger area of light coverage to be achieved than traditional T8 Fitting, maximising light conditions.
Within confined areas such as the Nurse Stations and
Reception Areas, 20W LED Downlights replaced 28W Biac
Downlights, providing clean quality lighting to the workspace.
Hospital Bays and Treatment Zones
Solarcrown Commercial supplied these areas with a 35W 1500mm LED Surface Mounted Opal Fitting including PIR sensors that dim the lighting when movement is not detected after an extended period. These adjustments further save energy for the NHS hospital when areas are not in use.
Food Preparation Area
32W Luceco IP65 Panels and 35W 1500mm LED Surface Mounted Anti-Corrosive Fitting were designed and supplied for areas that exceed normal temperatures. Our Anti-Corrosive range offers an IP rating that resists these conditions with little maintenance involved.
